Zusammenfassung

Gründung und Unternehmertum, im Englischen auch Entrepreneurship genannt, werden zunehmend in der interdisziplinären Forschung diskutiert. Die Gründung von Unternehmen ist erkannt als Motor gesellschaftlicher Entwicklung, als Impulsgeber für den Arbeitsmarkt und als Garant wirtschaftlicher Prosperität. War früher die Perspektive auf Gründung und Gründer noch weitgehend von einem ökonomischen Blickwinkel geprägt, sind seit rund 20 Jahren mehr und mehr auch Einflüsse der Persönlichkeitspsychologie, der Motivationsforschung oder auch der Entwicklungspsychologie, soziologische Modelle und sogar Überlegungen zu Biologie und Vererbung hinzugetreten. Das vorliegende Kapitel beschreibt diese Perspektiven und die neuen Befunde vor dem Hintergrund eines integrierenden Modells von Gründungsentwicklung. Wie entsteht eigentlich unternehmerische Aktivität, und bei wem entsteht sie? Ist jeder, der sich selbstständig macht, gleichermaßen erfolgreich? Was weiß man über Gründungsmotivation? Zu diesen Fragen sollten die Leserin und der Leser nach der Lektüre auskunftsfähig sein.
